The Blackhouse – Lewis Trilogy, #1

About this book

As Independent Scottish booksellers, we write all of our descriptions personally, we hope you enjoy this one.

The Blackhouse opens with a murder on the Isle of Lewis, a landscape shaped by wind, stone and a faith that runs deep through its communities. The crime draws Detective Inspector Fin Macleod back from Edinburgh to the island he left behind, forcing him to confront a past he thought he had escaped.

As Fin digs into the case, the investigation becomes entangled with memory and history. Lewis is a place where everyone knows one another and where silence can be as powerful as truth. Beneath the surface of everyday life, old loyalties and long-buried resentments begin to stir.

What starts as a hunt for a killer slowly turns inward. Secrets emerge, and the boundaries between hunter and prey blur. The Blackhouse is a tense and atmospheric crime novel, rooted in the landscape and culture of the Outer Hebrides, where isolation, tradition and guilt combine to deadly effect.
