Paula Gadd has already endured unimaginable loss. Nearly thirty years of marriage end with her husband’s sudden death, just days before the anniversary of their son Christopher’s passing. Grief has hollowed her out, leaving little room for anything else. Then, at the funeral, a stranger presses a note into her hand.

The message is brief and unsettling. It suggests that Paula’s husband was not the man she believed she knew.

When the two women meet, secrets surface that unravel the foundations of Paula’s life. What begins as doubt quickly turns to fear as it becomes clear that the past is far from buried. Both women are drawn into a web of deception that places them in immediate danger.

After He Died is a dark and gripping psychological thriller, blending domestic noir with mounting suspense. Tense, intimate and unsettling, it explores grief, trust and the terrifying consequences of discovering the truth too late.
