Morvern’s reaction is laconic, unsettling, and difficult to read. Grief does not arrive in the expected shapes, and what she does with the fact of his death is stranger still. The choices she makes in the aftermath feel both intriguing and immoral, as if she is testing what can be carried, what can be hidden, and what it means to keep going when the person beside you has stopped.
