Kathleen Jamie is a poet and non-fiction writer who began writing poetry in her teens and published her first booklet at 20. Raised in Currie, Midlothian, in an ordinary, non-literary Scottish family, writing poetry felt unusual—secretive, liberating, and real. In recent years she has developed as an essayist and published three books at the confluence of nature, travel, and culture: Findings, Sightlines, and Surfacing.
