Finance Offering Policy

At Paper Thistle, we want to make our products more accessible by offering interest-free finance options through our trusted partners Klarna and Clearpay. This policy explains how our finance offerings work, responsibilities, and limitations.

1. Finance Options

We offer the following finance options:

  • Klarna 0% Interest Finance: Allows customers to pay in instalments over a defined period.

  • Clearpay 0% Interest Finance: Pay in 4 equal instalments every 2 weeks without interest.

These options are provided by our finance partners. The terms, eligibility, and approval process are determined by them.

2. Independent Finance Approval

Approval for finance is entirely at the discretion of Klarna or Clearpay. Discount Bookshop:

  • Does not guarantee approval for any customer.

  • Cannot alter the credit assessment or application process.

  • Is not responsible for the terms set by these finance providers.

Customers must follow the finance provider’s instructions and complete the application directly with them.

3. Responsible Use

Finance should only be used if you are confident you can afford the repayments. Customers are responsible for:

  • Reviewing their own financial situation before applying.

  • Understanding the repayment schedule and obligations.

  • Avoiding taking on multiple finance agreements they cannot reasonably manage.

We encourage all customers to borrow responsibly and seek independent financial advice if needed.

4. Payment and Repayment

  • Payments are collected directly by the finance provider.

  • We do not manage, delay, or adjust repayments on behalf of customers.

  • Any missed payments, fees, or interest (if applicable under the provider’s terms) are the customer’s responsibility.

5. Product Orders Using Finance

  • All orders placed using Klarna or Clearpay remain subject to our standard Terms and Conditions regarding delivery, returns, and refunds.

  • Refunds for orders paid via finance will be processed according to our normal policy, but the finance provider may adjust your repayment schedule. Customers must liaise with Klarna or Clearpay regarding any adjustments.

6. Limitation of Liability

By using finance options via Discount Bookshop:

  • You acknowledge that we are not a credit provider.

  • Discount Bookshop does not accept liability for:

    • Approval or refusal of finance

    • Any missed or late payments

    • Fees or interest charged by the finance provider

    • Any financial losses resulting from the use of finance

Customers are encouraged to read the terms and conditions provided by Klarna and Clearpay before applying.

7. Eligibility

  • Finance options are available only to customers meeting the finance provider’s criteria.

  • Customers must be UK residents aged 18 or over.

  • A valid email address, mobile number, and payment method may be required.
