Resolution: The propulsive new Sunday Times bestseller

About this book

As Independent Scottish booksellers, we write all of our descriptions personally, we hope you enjoy this one.

Ray Lennox is trying to outrun his past. Having left Edinburgh behind, the former detective has settled in Brighton, trading chaos for routine, addiction for discipline, and long nights for quiet control. For the first time in years, life feels manageable.

Then he meets Mathew Cardingworth. Wealthy, charming and deeply unsettling, Cardingworth stirs memories Lennox has spent a lifetime trying to bury. Their encounter cracks open a childhood shaped by violence and secrets, forcing Lennox to confront the experiences that still define him.

Drawn back into a world of brutality and murder, Lennox finds that escape was only ever an illusion. As the truth edges closer, so does the cost of uncovering it. Resolution may be possible, but it will demand sacrifice, and Lennox must decide how much he is willing to lose for peace.

Dark, tense and psychologically sharp, this is a crime novel about trauma, obsession and the dangerous pull of unfinished business.
