The Voids follows a young man living alone in a condemned tower block in Glasgow, wandering through empty flats and the city beyond while encountering others on society’s margins. Blending realism with surreal moments, it explores loneliness, friendship and identity in modern urban Britain. For readers of experimental literary fiction about city life and alienation.

In a condemned tower block in Glasgow, a young man lives as the final occupant, uplifted by angels and plagued by demons. He moves through the voids of the building, searching the vacant flats that will never be lived in again, trying to find some kind of life in what has been left behind.
Outside, the city opens and confuses in equal measure. He stumbles into Glasgow and moves from one surreal situation to the next, caught between hardship and strange grace. Along the way he meets others living on the margins, and takes friendship and camaraderie wherever it is offered, as if connection is something you learn to accept quickly when you have gone too long without it.
As he drifts between the condemned block and the streets beyond, he grapples with who he is, and what shape a future might take when so much around him has already been written off.
