Matthew Fitt is a poet and novelist writing in Scots, born in Dundee in 1968. His best-known work is the Scots cyberpunk novel But n Ben A-Go-Go. He co-founded the Scots-language children’s imprint Itchy Coo and served as National Scots Language Development Officer from 2002 to 2011. A prolific translator, he has rendered works by Asterix, Roald Dahl, and J.K. Rowling into Scots. He received the Scottish Book Trust Outstanding Contribution to Children’s Books Award in 2020.
