About this book

Martha and Finn arrive at a breaking point. Their marriage is strained by unspoken fears and unresolved histories. Martha is consumed by climate anxiety, overwhelmed by a sense of impending collapse, while Finn refuses to face the trauma that shapes his silence. They are drifting apart, unsure how to reach one another.

In a last attempt to repair what remains, they join a group of wealthy travellers on a pilgrimage to The Salt Centre, a remote spiritual retreat hidden deep within the Bolivian salt flats. Drawn by promises of enlightenment, the group places their trust in an elusive shaman and submits to a series of salt ceremonies designed to strip away illusion.

As hallucinogenic rituals unfold, reality fractures. Each participant is forced to confront their own truths, desires and guilt. When the final ceremony spirals into horror, Martha and Finn are faced with an impossible choice.

This is a haunting novel about moral reckoning, environmental grief and the question of whether some wounds can ever truly be healed.
