The Hastening Storm: The fast-paced dystopian thriller series that’s gripping readers (The Pantheon Series)

About this book

As Independent Scottish booksellers, we write all of our descriptions personally, we hope you enjoy this one.

In the streets of Edinburgh, the Pantheon Games continue. Watched by millions and ruled by bloodshed, they demand obedience, endurance and silence. Modern recruits fight with ancient weapons, bound by laws designed to protect those who profit from the spectacle.

Tyler Maitland entered the Games to find his sister, who vanished after joining the Pantheon’s Edinburgh chapter. A year on, her absence still shapes every choice he makes. After the Grand Battle, survival requires a different kind of courage. Tyler must find a way to stand alongside former enemies, adopting new identities and new loyalties while the violence remains unchanged.

Above them, the organisers thrive. Below, the city bears the cost.

When Tyler is offered a mission not attempted in twenty years, it brings both risk and possibility. His life, and the fragile hope of finding his sister, rests on what he is willing to break.

A work of speculative, dystopian fiction attentive to power, survival and loss, this novel deepens a world where the rules are never neutral.
