The Cliff House – One Hen Weekend, Seven Secrets… But Only One Worth Killing for

About this book

As Independent Scottish booksellers, we write all of our descriptions personally, we hope you enjoy this one.

Jen’s hen weekend is meant to be a final, reckless pause before marriage. The venue is a sleek house perched on a private island, reachable only by helicopter, with no way off for three days. It is the sort of place designed to make people feel untouchable. The guests arrive carrying old rivalries, bruised egos, and histories they would rather keep buried.

As drink blurs the edges of civility, tensions rise. Alliances shift, resentments surface, and the careful performances each woman maintains begin to crack. When one of them vanishes, the isolation sharpens into threat. A message follows, demanding a confession. One secret must be spoken aloud, or the missing woman will not survive.

The Cliff House traps its characters in close quarters and lets pressure do the work. This is a claustrophobic thriller about power, envy, and the stories we tell to protect ourselves. As the island closes in, it becomes clear that silence can be as dangerous as any lie.
