Then another politics lecturer, Professor Stephen Hogg, is found folded into a suitcase beside the Clydeside Expressway. While searching Hogg’s office, Gould meets pathologist Sarah Badar, whose post mortem report has been redacted. She wants answers too.

Together, Sarah and Gould are drawn into a case that keeps fraying in stranger directions. Rival gangsters from Edinburgh and Glasgow, a llama farm owner in Kirkintilloch, an ex KGB general, missing Kremlin diamonds and old espionage signals all begin to knot together.
